Salary: USD 145,000 - 180,000 / annual

Arista Networks is seeking a Hardware Escalation Engineer to manage quality and reliability of production hardware units in a data center networking environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams spanning software, hardware, manufacturing, customer support, and external suppliers to identify, debug, and resolve quality issues and hardware failures. Key responsibilities include: - Manage and track quality metrics for production units - Interface with customer support to debug and gather information on failed units deployed at customer sites - Perform failure analysis on failed hardware in collaboration with hardware and software engineering teams - Route failed units to external suppliers for analysis when necessary - Track and close RMA (return merchandise authorization) cases - Develop and enhance corrective actions based on failure analysis findings - Provide detailed failure analysis reports You will be instrumental in maintaining Arista's reputation for quality in high-performance networking equipment, working with contract manufacturing partners and internal teams to drive continuous improvement in hardware reliability and manufacturing processes. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred) - Minimum 10+ years of experience in failure analysis and quality engineering - Demonstrated ability to debug, test systems, and track hardware failure processing for resolution - Experience with PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly, and associated manufacturing processes - Foundational knowledge of quality and reliability performance metrics - Experience in quality engineering within high-tech manufacturing, preferably networking equipment - Experience working with contract manufacturing partners - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with engineering teams - Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
