The Global Tax Manager will be a senior member of Q-CTRL's Finance team, serving as the primary liaison with external tax advisors and internal subject-matter expert for all global tax matters across the group. This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility for tax compliance, strategic tax planning, and financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and coordinating with external tax advisors for Australia, United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and expanding new international jurisdictions
- Preparing, calculating, reviewing, and ensuring accurate lodgement of income tax returns, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), BAS, GST/VAT, Sales and Use, and indirect tax returns across applicable regions
- Managing tax for financial statement purposes, including consolidated tax provision and expense calculation, Deferred Tax Asset (DTA) and Deferred Tax Liability (DTL) roll-forward, forecasting, and reconciliation to statutory accounts
- Leading and coordinating implementation of tax-related software across global entities (current ERP is Campfire; planning to implement tax software such as Anorok, Avalera, or Taxwire by January 1, 2027)
- Leading and coordinating the Transfer Pricing Study, including policy documentation, intercompany pricing support, and audit-readiness
- Monitoring and interpreting changes in global tax legislation, researching and assessing impacts to the business, and proactively advising stakeholders
- Driving continuous improvement and compliance across the tax function
The Finance team at Q-CTRL acts as a trusted business partner to every department and investors, supporting strategic decisions, cost savings, expansion, and fundraising while providing integrity in financial record-keeping.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in a similar senior or tax specialist role with equivalent or higher responsibilities
- Chartered Tax Advisor, Master of Taxation, CPA, or similar qualification preferred
- Strong hands-on experience and understanding of cross-border transactions across corporate income tax, indirect taxes (GST/VAT), Sales and Use tax, FBT, and international tax
- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing tax provisions, deferred tax balances, and strong communication skills to translate complex tax matters into clear, practical advice for non-finance stakeholders
- Practical exposure to Transfer Pricing frameworks, intercompany billing, and preparation of audit support
- Confidence and adaptability in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving scale-up environment
