Alan is a prevention-focused health insurance company serving 1M+ members across 40K+ companies, with €800M+ ARR. The company integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a unified platform and is expanding into Saudi Arabia with a new product and engineering team based in Riyadh.
You will join Alan's growing engineering team in Riyadh at a pivotal moment, working hand-in-hand with engineers across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. Your responsibilities include:
- Building products for Alan's Saudi Arabian members and customers, from mobile and web experiences to backend systems powering them
- Adapting Alan's proven platform to the Saudi healthcare landscape, including Arabic and right-to-left localization
- Integrating with local healthcare ecosystems, national systems, providers, and partners in compliance with Saudi regulations
- Designing reliable systems meeting local data, privacy, and compliance requirements
- Serving as a local technical lead on security, working with the Chief Information Security Officer and compliance team to implement Saudi cybersecurity frameworks (Saudi Central Bank Cyber Security Framework, National Cybersecurity Authority controls, Personal Data Protection Law)
- Contributing reusable components back to Alan's global platform to benefit all markets
- Owning critical technical decisions as a domain expert, collaborating with product, operations, and local leadership
Alan's engineering culture emphasizes product interaction, fast execution, high ownership, and solving big problems. Engineers making product decisions are the same ones building them. The tech stack includes Python/Flask, React, React Native, and PostgreSQL.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (Python, Java, C#, or similar)
- Enthusiasm for modern web technologies and JavaScript
- Willingness to work with Python and JavaScript (prior experience not required)
- Passion for building products
- Self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset
- Humble, growth-oriented approach regardless of seniority
- Collaborative, enthusiastic about teamwork, learning, and mentoring
- Fluent in English
- Based in Riyadh or willing to relocate
- Arabic language skills are a plus
- Interest in security; experience with Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) Cyber Security Framework, National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) Essential Cybersecurity Controls, or relevant security certifications is a strong plus
- Targeting D-F level range (mid-to-senior individual contributor or early management scope)
- Saudi nationals particularly encouraged to apply
