Spot2 is a proptech startup in Mexico City building the next digital ecosystem for the commercial real estate sector. We are seeking an experienced Fullstack Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team and develop scalable, secure, high-performance software solutions.
In this role, you will own the complete development lifecycle—from conception through production deployment—ensuring users experience fast, smooth, and scalable products. You will work with modern technologies including PHP (Laravel) for backend/APIs and TypeScript (React/Next.js) for frontend development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy new features and infrastructure for fintech products using Laravel and Next.js
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools and spec-driven workflows to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality and architectural standards
- Optimize platform performance, ensuring optimal load speeds, implementing best practices (SSR, code splitting), and excellent technical SEO/indexing
- Collaborate closely with designers and Growth/Marketing teams to improve product discoverability
- Ensure platform availability, uptime, and code quality following agile methodologies
- Monitor, diagnose, and resolve bugs and performance bottlenecks
You will have significant autonomy and ownership over your projects, working in an environment where your ideas directly impact the business and technology from day one.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fintech Experience (Required): Proven experience developing financial products (advances, loans, payment gateways, banking integrations, etc.)
- Technical Experience: 5+ years of demonstrated experience building solutions with Laravel (PHP) and Next.js with TypeScript (App Router and/or Pages Router)
- Education: Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields
- AI-Assisted Development: Familiarity with AI-driven development practices (prompt engineering for code generation and spec-driven development)
- Databases: Hands-on experience with robust relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and Elasticsearch or OpenSearch
- Cloud: Practical experience with AWS or GCP environments
- Advanced Web Knowledge: Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals, caching strategies, and Linux-based systems
- Soft Skills: High autonomy, sense of urgency, critical thinking, structured approach, and data-driven decision-making
- Desirable (not required): Experience in large development teams (20+ people) or as a Tech Lead; CI/CD implementation; web performance tools (Lighthouse, CrUX, Search Console); advanced caching strategies (Redis, ISR, CDN)
