In this Fullstack Engineer role, you will deliver end-to-end features that power Kpler's client-facing capabilities. You'll build and scale interactive maps, unified search functionality, and custom user dashboards—working across backend microservices and frontend UI. A key focus is accelerating the migration of core applications onto Atlas, Kpler's shared Tailwind-based design system built in Vue 3 and React, to unify component architecture across the platform.
You'll develop Node.js backend services, designing and maintaining microservices and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layers that compose domain data owned by adjacent engineering teams. Beyond feature work, you'll rotate into developer tooling, monorepo automation, and CI pipeline optimizations to enhance the developer experience for teams building on the platform. The role emphasizes leveraging AI-assisted workflows—integrating tools like Cursor or Claude Code into daily development to boost efficiency while maintaining architectural quality.
You'll participate actively in code reviews, technical pair programming, and architectural discussions grounded in Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and hexagonal architecture principles. The team values a pragmatic, collaborative approach: shipping value early, gathering feedback, and iterating over perfecting in isolation.
**Requirements (Must-haves):**
- 2–5 years of professional engineering experience building modern web applications
- Solid TypeScript proficiency and hands-on experience with Vue or React
- Proven experience building or maintaining shared tools, component libraries, or internal frameworks that other developers rely on
- Eagerness to take full ownership of feature lifecycles, including developing Node.js backend/BFF services when needed
- Hands-on experience incorporating AI development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) into your workflow with a pragmatic view of their capabilities
- Collaborative mindset that values shipping value early, receiving feedback, and iterating
**Nice-to-haves:**
- Experience with Mapbox, GraphQL, Kafka, PostgreSQL, or Elasticsearch
- Familiarity or working experience with Python or Scala
- Exposure to hexagonal architecture, micro-frontends, event-driven systems, or monorepos
