ROLLER is a global SaaS platform operating across 30+ countries, powering millions of real-world experiences in the leisure and attractions industry. You'll join the Product and Engineering team as a hands-on full-stack engineer, owning meaningful customer problems from discovery through delivery, production operation, and iteration. The role spans backend and frontend work, with flexibility to focus on APIs, payments, integrations, reporting, point of sale, online checkout, or systems supporting multi-country operations and regulatory compliance.
You'll work closely with product managers and engineers, forming views on technical decisions that balance delivery speed with security, reliability, and long-term maintainability. The backend stack is C#, .NET, T-SQL, and AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SES, SQS). The frontend uses Angular with ROLLER's design system and component library.
The work involves real scale and real consequences: thousands of requests per second across hundreds of containers, with software directly affecting venue operators and guests. Problems are rarely textbook—you'll navigate transactions, localization, privacy, compliance, and customer-facing workflows that require judgment. You'll take features from early discovery through technical design, implementation, release, and iteration; troubleshoot production issues; improve reliability, performance, observability, and maintainability; contribute to design discussions and code reviews; and connect technical decisions to customer and business outcomes.

**Requirements:**
- Three to five years of professional software-engineering experience (scope matters more than exact tenure)
- Strong full-stack experience, comfortable moving between backend services and user-facing interfaces
- Track record of building and operating APIs, services, or transactional product systems in a product, SaaS, or fast-moving environment
- Sound engineering fundamentals: data modeling, testing, security, performance, cloud patterns, and maintainability
- Ability to take ambiguous problems through to practical outcomes and learn from production incidents or customer feedback
- Clear communication, curiosity, and confidence to give and receive honest feedback
- Willingness to work from the South Melbourne office three days per week
- If recent experience is in another modern backend language (Java, Go, Kotlin, Python), strong product-engineering fundamentals and quick learning ability are valued
- Proficiency and curiosity to embrace AI and modern technology as a core competency
