Applied Intuition is a $15B-valued AI company (founded 2017) powering physical intelligence for autonomous systems across automotive, defense, trucking, construction, mining, and agriculture. The company serves 18 of the top 20 global automakers and the U.S. military and its allies.
The Mission Control team builds a tailored suite of command-and-control (C2) user interfaces enabling defense customers to interact with Applied Intuition's autonomy stack. Users include warfighters, program managers, and test engineers who need robust interfaces to test, understand, and operate autonomy in simulation and in the field. This is a "startup within a startup" operating on day-long iteration cycles, delivering critical autonomy tooling to the Defense industry.
As a Full-Stack Software Engineer on Mission Control, you will design and implement a data-oriented frontend UI/UX platform featuring 2D/3D graphics and visualizations of live agents in the world. You'll work closely with the Design team to understand user workflows and develop a compelling vision for Defense Tooling interfaces. You'll integrate your frontend implementation with an in-house simulator, data-transmission pipeline, autonomous systems, and other defense applications.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implement data-oriented frontend UI/UX, including 2D/3D rendering and selection tools for mission planning, debrief, command-and-control, and simulation
- Develop principled architecture with clear roles, responsibilities, and strong test fixtures
- Collaborate with Design to understand workflows and build intuitive interfaces
- Integrate frontend with state-of-the-art simulator, data pipelines, and autonomous systems
Applied Intuition is an in-office company with the expectation that full-time employees work from the Sunnyvale office 5 days per week, with flexibility for occasional remote work and schedule adjustments.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Full-stack web development experience
- Interest in spatial reasoning and 2D/3D geographic map rendering problems
- Strong vision and good taste for intuitive user interfaces
- Hunger to learn and grow into ownership and impact on a new product team
- U.S. citizenship (legally required) and eligibility to obtain a security clearance
NICE TO HAVE:
- Aptitude with spatial reasoning and 2D/3D geographic map rendering (WebGL, Cesium, GIS, etc.)
- Experience with React, TypeScript, or Angular
- Experience with real-time command-and-control interfaces for robotic systems
