Metaview is an applied AI lab building AI coworkers for recruiting teams. Founded by former Uber and Palantir leaders, the company has raised $50M+ and is growing 5x year-over-year.
This is a hands-on full stack product engineering role where you own customer problems end-to-end: from interface and API design through data model, permissions, agent behavior, failure recovery, and production experience. You will work on problems such as building interfaces and systems for recruiting workflows, designing AI agents that pursue objectives over time and know when to ask for human judgment, turning conversations into actions with trustworthy interfaces, designing controls and recovery paths for agents, and turning patterns into reusable primitives.
The operating model emphasizes velocity: shipping small changes daily, with the engineer who ships owning production behavior and the next revision. You will talk directly to customers, decide what product primitive solves the problem, build both the visible experience and systems behind it, then stay with the result in production. There is no ticket queue or handoffs between specialists.
AI coding agents are part of the job—engineers routinely run several in parallel for exploration, implementation, and review. The company assesses both your ability to direct agents and your independent reasoning, coding, and debugging skills.
In your first 3–6 months, you should independently own and ship a bounded customer outcome from problem definition through rollout and iteration. At mid-level, you own bounded outcomes across product and implementation. At staff+, you still write code while setting direction for broader areas, making architectural tradeoffs, and raising decision quality around you.
This is a hands-on product IC role, not people management or model research. The company works together in person in San Francisco; this is not remote. Stack includes React, TypeScript, Python, AWS, Postgres, and S3, though exact technology experience is not required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Have personally shipped software for external users and owned a meaningful outcome from problem definition through production
- Real depth in at least one technical area; ability to cross product, frontend, and backend boundaries when needed
- Heavy use of AI coding agents while maintaining independent design, implementation, review, and debugging capability
- Desire for direct customer contact, hands-on implementation, and responsibility after launch
- Comfort following one product behavior through interface, API, data, permissions, and production recovery
- Tendency to move toward difficult layers rather than routing problems to other teams
