Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries including food, mining, and transport. The company integrates hardware, software, AI, operations, and manufacturing to deploy autonomous systems into real environments at scale.
The Fleet Management engineering team builds software systems that help operators understand, manage, and scale autonomous fleets. You will work across the full stack—from user-facing interfaces and workflows to APIs, backend services, and data systems—taking ambiguous operational problems from concept to production.
In this role, you will own features end-to-end, from technical design through production deployment. You'll build intuitive interfaces for fleet operators and internal users, design and implement backend services and APIs that power fleet-management workflows, and work with operational and engineering stakeholders to translate complex real-world needs into scalable product solutions. You'll use modern AI-assisted engineering tools to increase development velocity, make pragmatic architecture decisions while maintaining high reliability and user experience standards, debug across system boundaries, and help shape engineering practices as the team grows.
This is a generalist role for an engineer comfortable with broad ownership, moving quickly, and working wherever the problem requires. The team values engineers who reason from user and operational problems rather than narrow technical tasks, and who can operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and proven track record shipping production software
- Experience building across both frontend and backend systems; depth in one area with willingness to work across the stack
- Experience with modern web applications, APIs, services, databases, and data-intensive product workflows
- Strong product instincts and ability to reason from user or operational problems
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with high degree of ownership
- Strong communication and technical judgment; ability to explain tradeoffs clearly
- Track record of taking meaningful projects from concept through launch and iteration
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience building operational tooling, fleet-management systems, logistics platforms, robotics, or autonomous-vehicle products
- Experience with real-time or high-volume data systems
- Experience incorporating AI/ML capabilities or AI-enabled developer workflows into production products
- Startup or zero-to-one product engineering experience
