ElevenLabs is an AI research and product company that has raised $781M in funding with a $22B valuation. The company launched in January 2023 with a human-like AI voice model and now serves millions of users and thousands of businesses including Deutsche Telekom and Meta. The company operates three main platforms: ElevenAgents (voice and chat agents at scale), ElevenCreative (speech, music, image, and video generation across 70+ languages), and ElevenAPI (AI audio foundational models for developers).
The Payments team owns how ElevenLabs charges customers: billing, usage tracking, pricing, and payments across self-serve and enterprise channels. This role is critical because it underpins the company's revenue and is immediately visible to every customer and team.
As a Full-Stack Engineer (Backend Leaning) on the Payments team, you will expand and evolve payments systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining usage tracking systems that meter requests accurately without impacting latency
- Leading the migration of enterprise pricing and usage processing, including new stream-processing services for usage events
- Making it easy for customers to upgrade and pay, including supporting different entities and new payment providers
- Working with Finance and Tax teams to meet compliance, audit, and reporting requirements
- Enabling pricing and growth experiments with Growth and Product teams
- Debugging complex customer billing scenarios by analyzing customer experience, logs, and code to identify and fix root causes
- Collaborating with Sales, Field Development Engineers, Finance, and engineers across the company
Much of this work extends or replaces existing systems, so you will scope carefully, plan migrations, and roll out changes without disrupting customers.
