ElevenLabs is an AI research and product company that has raised $781M in funding with a $22B valuation. The company launched in January 2023 with a human-like AI voice model and now serves millions of users and thousands of businesses including Deutsche Telekom and Meta. The company operates three main platforms: ElevenAgents (voice and chat agents at scale), ElevenCreative (speech, music, image, and video generation across 70+ languages), and ElevenAPI (AI audio foundational models for developers).
The Music team owns music and sound effects end-to-end at ElevenLabs, turning research breakthroughs into APIs and creative tools. Five new research engineers have recently joined the music research group, with models for stem separation and MIDI transcription in progress.
You will join as a Full-Stack Engineer with a backend lean, working with research and research engineering to bring model improvements into production and build and run the APIs behind them. You'll sync with go-to-market to decide which features, including bespoke enterprise ones, get built next. You may occasionally join customer calls when customers request technical input.
Engineers at ElevenLabs act as PMs. You'll be handed ambiguous goals and expected to break them down, working through legal questions, choosing engineering approaches, and planning launches with growth. Since models set the limits, you'll design systems that allow better models to be swapped in later. Engineering is often only half the job—the other half involves cross-functional collaboration and product thinking.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong Full-Stack Engineer with backend lean; proven track record building and shipping production APIs and backend systems
- Product decomposition mindset; ability to take vague goals, weigh trade-offs, and ship without analysis paralysis
- Proactive ownership; drive work end-to-end without relying on ticket boards or task assignment
- Comfortable working across research, legal, safety, growth, design, and enterprise customers
- Genuine excitement about music and AI; the kind of person who prototypes ideas for fun and pushes good ones into production
- Bonus: music or audio experience (even as a hobby), or experience shipping ML models into production
