Lendbuzz is building innovative financial technology to provide underserved borrowers with better access to credit. The company is seeking a backend-focused full-stack Software Engineer to develop and scale high-quality, scalable backend systems that power their products.
In this role, you will own features from design through deployment, collaborating closely with design, product, and backend teams. The position is approximately 70% backend and 30% frontend, allowing you to work across the full stack as product needs require.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participate in all phases of agile software development, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment
- Build and maintain backend services in Python, supporting RESTful APIs and event-driven workflows
- Collaborate with engineering teams to architect systems optimized for speed, scalability, and reliability
- Contribute to frontend development in React, Next.js, and TypeScript
- Research, prototype, and evaluate new tools and technologies to improve development workflow
- Develop internal tools and integrate with external APIs
- Contribute to the expansion, testing, and release of products impacting thousands of customers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of backend development experience
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, with familiarity in microservices and event-driven architecture
- Fluency in relational database technology such as PostgreSQL
- Strong grounding in testing methodologies, including TDD and automated testing frameworks
- Experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure
- Familiarity with agentic development workflows and AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar), and interest in applying them to real engineering work
- Working knowledge of React, Next.js, and TypeScript, with willingness to contribute across the stack
- Proven ability to work independently, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
