Act Security is an action-first cloud security platform built for the AI era. The company addresses the challenge of access debt in cloud environments—organizations accumulate unused access that becomes a critical vulnerability when AI-powered attacks can exploit access paths faster than human teams can triage them. Act systematically shrinks the access surface across cloud infrastructure by reasoning across identity, network, and AI access control planes, enforcing deterministic boundaries on what people, workloads, and AI agents can reach. The platform uses cloud-native controls already in place, requiring no new agents or offline deployments. The company is early-stage and well-funded, founded by repeat security operators who previously created Medigate (acquired by Claroty). The culture emphasizes three values: Win (ambitious goals, high standards), Learn (from customers, peers, mistakes), and Have Fun (great work happens when people enjoy collaborating). In this role, you will own features end-to-end across the full stack. You'll design and build capabilities from the React/TypeScript UI down through backend services, APIs, and data layers that power the cloud security platform. Key responsibilities include: - Design and implement features end-to-end, from frontend UI to backend services and APIs - Build and maintain backend systems that process complex cloud infrastructure data - Design clean, efficient APIs connecting intuitive frontends to scalable backends - Collaborate closely with Product and Design to translate security insights into usable capabilities - Make pragmatic architecture decisions balancing speed with long-term maintainability - Leverage AI tools as part of daily development workflow - Improve codebase, tooling, and engineering practices as the company scales This is a high-ownership role at an early-stage company where engineers drive technical decisions. You'll work in an AI-native environment, helping customers secure AI workloads while building intelligent automation into the product itself. REQUIREMENTS: - At least 5 years of hands-on full stack development experience - Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript (frontend) and Node.js or similar (backend) - Experience designing and consuming APIs, working with relational or cloud-native databases - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus - Solid understanding of system design, data structures, and performance tradeoffs across the stack - Strong sense of UI/UX combined with solid backend engineering judgment - Strong sense of ownership, clear communication, and ability to move fast without cutting corners
