Teserac is building Neuron™, an AI-native observability and automation platform for data center power operations. The platform gives infrastructure teams real-time visibility into power systems and uses an AI teammate to detect anomalies, correlate events, and recommend actions.
As a Full Stack Developer, you will own features end-to-end across the entire stack: from data ingestion (pulling telemetry from building management systems via BMS, MQTT, and AWS IoT Core), through the time-series storage layer (PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB), to the operator-facing dashboards and interfaces. You'll work on a small, fast-moving team where code ships in days and runs in live facilities with real physical consequences.
Key responsibilities include:
**Product and Front End**: Build operator-facing features in React and TypeScript—real-time dashboards, alerting, alarm workflows, capacity planning views, and power-flow visualizations. Design interfaces for the AI teammate (interaction panels, recommendations, approval workflows, audit trails). Optimize large, data-dense views for performance across devices.
**Data Ingestion and Integrations**: Own the ingestion pipeline bringing telemetry from customer sites into Neuron™. Build integration modules against real building and power systems (Siemens Desigo, Schneider PME, Niagara, Eaton, BACnet, Modbus, SNMP). Ensure correctness of ingested data: point mapping, unit semantics, deduplication, and backfill.
**Time-Series Platform**: Develop against PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB (hypertables, continuous aggregates, compression, retention). Design schemas and migrations that scale safely to billions of rows. Debug performance issues that only surface with real customer data volumes.
**Quality and Operations**: Write tested, reviewed code. Contribute to CI/CD and automated testing. Troubleshoot production issues across the stack and share on-call responsibilities.
You'll work directly with the Principal Software & Architecture Lead, Product, and Solution Engineering. The team values ownership over tickets, fast iteration, and engineers who reason from evidence.
**Requirements**
Required:
- 7+ years building and shipping production software across the full stack
- Strong Python, ideally Django (backend is Django and Celery)
- Strong PostgreSQL: schema design, query performance, migrations on live production databases
- Practical time-series experience (TimescaleDB ideal; deep experience with other time-series or high-volume streaming stores transfers)
- Solid React and TypeScript with judgment to keep data-heavy interfaces fast
- Experience with asynchronous and event-driven systems: task queues, pub/sub, streaming, or WebSockets
- Comfortable on AWS (ECS Fargate, RDS, ElastiCache, IoT Core)
- Able to work independently, define scope from rough requirements, and ship
Preferred:
- Industrial or IoT telemetry experience (BMS, EPMS, DCIM, SCADA, or similar OT data sources)
- Hands-on experience with industrial protocols (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, vendor BMS APIs)
- Data center infrastructure familiarity (power distribution topology, UPS/PDU behavior, PUE)
- Experience building observability or monitoring products (commercial or internal)
- Early-stage startup experience (Seed through Series B)
