Salary: USD 125,000 - 185,000 / annual
Voyager Technologies is a defense, national security, and space technology company developing mission-critical solutions for space and national security applications. The FPGA Engineer will be responsible for designing and testing cutting-edge components including Software Defined Radios, Digital Processing Systems, Space Rated Cameras, Star Trackers, and Laser Communications systems.
Reporting to the VP of Product Design, you will work within the Engineering department on complex, high-speed FPGA designs (primarily Xilinx). Key responsibilities include:
• Designing and testing complex, high-speed FPGA designs implementing high-throughput algorithms
• Designing and testing embedded applications using the Xilinx Zynq family
• Developing architectures compatible with embedded Linux environments
• Designing and supporting top-level system simulations
• Translating system requirements into FPGA architectures
• Implementing and documenting FPGA designs using HDL (VHDL, System Verilog, etc.)
• Supporting systems integration and Test Engineering to produce functional designs
• Implementing and contributing to the architecture of multi-megapixel camera systems, interfacing with Camera Link and SpaceWire standards
• Designing systems capable of handling imager data and image processing for embedded camera development
• Creating test plans to ensure integrated performance meets specification
This is an onsite role based in San Diego, CA. Relocation assistance may be provided to qualified candidates. The role requires ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance and U.S. Person status per ITAR/EAR regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of experience with firmware design, integration, and test (preferably with Xilinx family)
• Experience implementing and documenting FPGA designs using HDL (VHDL, System Verilog, etc.)
• Experience with lab equipment
• Experience drafting comprehensive technical documentation
• Capable of multi-tasking and working on multiple projects while supporting production activities
• Strong technical background with ability to come up to speed quickly on new technologies
• Good communication skills with ability to work both individually and collaboratively in a team environment
• Able to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance
• Must be a U.S. Person (US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual per 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3))
