Zippi is a fintech company on a mission to empower 54 million micro-entrepreneurs in Brazil with financial solutions tailored to their needs. The company pioneered the use of PIX as a credit platform, enabling small businesses to access working capital instantly without collateral. Since launch four years ago, Zippi has achieved profitability, distributed over R$10 billion in credit, and is experiencing exponential growth, backed by top-tier investors including Y Combinator and Tiger Global.
The FP&A team is young and in a phase of rapid structuring and expansion. The team manages high-ambiguity projects being designed for the first time (such as transitioning from single-product to multi-product long-term planning), recurring routines (budgeting and performance reporting), and intermediate work (building business cases, prioritizing resource allocation, and analyzing opportunities with financial uncertainty).
In your first three months, success is defined by deepening core analytical work—specifically performance reporting and company results forecasting. This builds your business context and familiarity with founders and leadership. Subsequently, you will build business cases for projects, contribute to budget construction, and influence company prioritization. Examples of work include: modeling macro credit risk and defining protective actions with the credit team; analyzing economics of new acquisition channels; and modeling quarterly planning initiatives against company ambitions (2-year plans, annual budgets).
You will be measured on your ability to bring financial acumen to decisions (combining existing knowledge with learning on the job) and your capacity to look beyond numbers—understanding that Excel accepts anything, but without business context produces little value. The goal is generating economic value, not decimal-point precision in forecasts.
The role requires in-person onboarding in São Paulo during the first month, and presence in São Paulo for at least 2 weeks per quarter during planning periods.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency in fundamentals: experience analyzing P&Ls across different industries, deep knowledge of unit economics at consolidated and segmented levels, comfort with economics and statistics concepts
- Financial modeling: experience building business cases and business forecasts; ideally experience with both high-level estimates (market sizing, TAM/SAM) and detailed modeling (pricing initiatives, expense cases)
- Tool proficiency: strong Excel skills and BI/visualization tools; ability to use SQL, Python, or similar languages for data analysis (need not be expert; AI-assisted work acceptable)
- First-principles reasoning: critical thinking, instinct to question assumptions before execution, ability to reason about unfamiliar problems
- Builder mindset: proactive, hands-on, autonomous; Zippi does not emphasize hand-holding; part of your agenda aligns with your manager, part you identify yourself
- Communication: clear, concise communication adapted to audience and context (exploratory suggestions vs. urgent performance issues)
- Availability: in-person onboarding in São Paulo first month; 2 weeks per quarter in São Paulo for planning
Differentiators:
- Experience with financial businesses, especially credit and/or payment acquiring
- Familiarity with accounting or deep corporate finance knowledge
