Salary: USD 130,000 - 170,000 / annual
Uare.ai is building a platform for Human-First AI, where each person owns an Individual AI trained on their own voice, story, and life. The company was founded by Rob LoCascio (founder and former CEO of LivePerson) and is backed by $10.3M from Mayfield and Boldstart Ventures.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be the customer-facing technical expert who sits with enterprise and government clients to deploy, configure, and operationalize their Individual AIs. Every deployment is different, and your role is to ensure each one succeeds from kickoff through production.
Key responsibilities:
- Launch customers: scope, configure, and ship each deployment end-to-end
- Build their AIs: transform customer documents, recordings, and domain knowledge into working Individual AIs
- Connect their systems: integrate Uare.ai with customer tools, data sources, and authentication systems
- Run onboarding sessions: lead guided tests, collect structured feedback, and train customer teams
- Debug and fix issues on site, escalating to engineering with clear context
- Translate field learnings into product features and repeatable playbooks
You will report to the CTO, work in-person 5 days a week across San Francisco and Los Altos offices, and travel regularly to customer sites including government facilities.
Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship (required for government contracts)
- 3+ years as a software engineer, solutions engineer, or forward deployed engineer working directly with customers
- Strong proficiency in Python or TypeScript
- Experience with APIs and data pipelines
- Hands-on production experience with LLMs, RAG, or AI features
- Ability to explain technical work clearly to non-technical audiences
- Willingness to travel to customer sites, including government facilities
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience with government or regulated deployments (IL5, FedRAMP, HIPAA), ideally on Azure
- Active security clearance
- Prior customer-facing engineering at an AI or early-stage company
