Duvo is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed directly with customers and bring AI agents to life in their operations. You will own the end-to-end customer outcome: scoping, building, debugging, and handing over AI-powered agents that automate and improve real business processes.
You will spend significant time inside customer environments (mostly onsite/hybrid), mapping their workflows on the Duvo platform, identifying what's worth automating, and redesigning broken processes before automating them. You'll translate business logic into agent behavior, configure agents against real systems (ERPs, portals, spreadsheets, email, custom tools), write integration code and scripts as needed, and debug live agents in production. You'll build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders, run working sessions, and drive measurable business outcomes.
Success means shipping multiple agents in production with visible KPIs, earning customer trust as a technical operator, leaving behind reusable patterns and templates, and expanding accounts through both relationship and results. Each deployment should be faster than the last.
You will work closely with Transformation Managers, capture workflow patterns for the Product and Engineering teams, and help move customers from pilot energy to measurable business impact.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years shipping against real customer environments
- AI-native background: experience building, deploying, or operating AI and agentic systems in customer-facing settings (not adjacent roles)
- Likely backgrounds: forward-deployed engineering or solutions engineering at an AI-first company; applied AI/ML engineering with direct customer exposure; technical consulting on AI or automation projects with delivery and client relationship ownership; operations or product roles building and shipping AI-powered tooling against real-world systems
- Retail, e-commerce, or CPG background is a strong plus; fluency in operational domains (supply chain, procurement, category management, merchandising, finance ops, supplier management, warehousing) helps
- Hands-on with modern AI tooling: LLMs, agent frameworks, prompt engineering, evals, MCP, retrieval
- Strong systems thinking and engineering judgment
- Process design instinct; able to spot waste, redundancy, and bad handoffs
- Comfortable in code-adjacent territory: SQL, Python or JavaScript scripting, APIs, JSON, webhooks, light data work
- Familiarity with ERPs and enterprise stacks is a plus
- Able to lead working sessions, manage stakeholders, push back on scope, and explain trade-offs clearly
- Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus
- Mindset: bias to ship, comfortable with ambiguity and changing requirements, low ego with high standards, customer-obsessed, commercially aware, honest about what's working
