Fluidstack is building civilization-scale compute infrastructure for AI, acquiring power, designing and operating data centers with teams spanning hardware and software. The company is singularly focused on delivering 10-100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer on the Manufacturing & Supply Chain team, you will embed with sourcing leads, quality managers, factory operators, and warehouse teams to turn their operational judgment into software systems. You'll work on several interconnected problems:
**Bill of Materials & Procurement**: Convert bills of materials into order books where every template carries pricing and lead time data, projects lock against buildings, and purchase orders derive from a single source of truth instead of spreadsheets. Manage tens of billions of dollars in GPUs, optics, switchgear, and cooling.
**Procurement Tracking**: Build systems that make procurement tracking trustworthy by running rules in code against live vendor emails, documents, and general contractor purchase orders. Use extractors to catch drift within a week and draft recovery plans before vendors call.
**Receiving & Payment**: Close the loop from receiving to payment by matching every delivery to a purchase order line, tracking serial numbers in warehouse bins, scoring cycle counts against accuracy gates, and enabling three-way matching from one record.
**Manufacturing as Software**: Ship manufacturing bills of materials, engineering change notices, and drawing trees in one model before the factory opens. Generate inspection and test plans per asset from design revision, and open nonconformances with attached evidence when checks fail.
**Operational Embedding**: Work daily with operators on factory floors and in vendor calls, turning their workflows into systems that decide order schedules, cash demand, and payment schedules.
You'll operate with full autonomy, own things end-to-end, and take on scope without asking for permission. The team drives everything forward with insane urgency, reasons from first principles, and prioritizes building something that matters.
**Requirements:**
- Shipped production code in Go, Python, or TypeScript; ability to pick up whatever language the problem demands
- Built real features on LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-weight models), MCP servers, and agentic frameworks
- Put document extraction into production against messy real inputs
- Work daily with AI coding tools like Claude Code and Cursor; experience getting agents doing useful work autonomously
- Identify problems, design solutions, and ship without waiting for direction or approval
- Moved fast under deadline while leaving data models and foundations that other engineers extended
- Earned credibility with operators in factories, warehouses, or procurement; driven adoption of software inside real deadlines (live production runs, quarter-end closes)
- Product taste demonstrated in shipped work: interfaces operators find obvious, workflows matching actual work
- Bonus: Experience with MES, ERP, WMS, or TMS systems; BOM lineage and engineering change control; serialized component traceability; supplier quality (NCRs, CAPA, FAI); three-way match and receiving reconciliation; LLM extraction over vendor documents; high-volume hardware supply chains
