Telnyx is building a local Enterprise Sales Pod in Tel Aviv with one Account Executive and one Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) working together to architect and deploy production systems on Telnyx's global network for enterprise customers. You'll embed directly with enterprise customers to understand their communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration challenges, then design and ship custom implementations.
You'll own the technical side of the sales process: discovery, architecture, proof-of-concept, and production go-live. This is not a demo role—you'll build real solutions that work at scale, working side-by-side with a dedicated Enterprise AE who owns the named-account list and commercial relationships. You win together with no throw-over-the-wall handoffs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Embed with enterprise customers to understand their communications workflows and AI use cases
- Build and deploy custom implementations: AI Voice Assistants, Telnyx APIs (Voice, Messaging, Fax, Wireless), WebRTC
- Run open-weight LLMs in customer environments using Telnyx Inference or deploy self-hosted stacks (Llama, Mistral, Hebrew-adapted LLMs) when air-gapped or sovereign-cloud requirements demand it
- Deploy and operate LiteLLM as the model gateway in customer environments with unified OpenAI-compatible interface, routing, load balancing, retries, and fallbacks
- Instrument and govern LLM usage through the gateway with cost tracking, caching, logging, observability, and guardrails
- Wire production observability for all shipped solutions—metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting (Prometheus + Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog, ELK)
- Design model routing strategies for real-time voice workloads balancing latency, cost, and quality
- Make build-vs-buy cases between self-hosted open-weight models and hosted frontier APIs
- Adapt models to customer domains: prompt and RAG pipelines for Hebrew and English use cases, Israel-specific regulatory compliance
- Lead POCs, pilots, and production launches from whiteboard to go-live
- Own customer outcomes until the solution is live and stable
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape the roadmap based on field insights
- Create technical documentation, runbooks, and maintainable solutions for handoff
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues alongside customer teams
Requirements:
- CS degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years building and shipping production software (you've written code real users depended on, been on-call, debugged in production; consulting background counts if this applies)
- Proficiency in multiple languages: Python, Node.js/TypeScript, Go (Telnyx Edge Compute uses TypeScript)
- Practical understanding of production LLM failure modes: provider rate limits, timeouts, retry behavior, streaming, token accounting, cost attribution, concurrency failure modes
- Comfortable deploying containerized services on Kubernetes with secrets management, config, and upgrades
- Experience wiring observability and being paged because of it (Prometheus + Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog, ELK, or equivalent)
- High-concurrency experience with Kafka, message queues, or event streams at real scale; understanding of consumer lag, backpressure, hot partitions, rebalance stalls
- Built APIs from scratch: OpenAPI spec, REST/GraphQL design, auth, rate limiting, versioning, idempotency
- Event-driven thinking and cloud-native instincts
- Self-sufficient by default—read code and docs, ask customers, make sound engineering judgment calls independently
- Customer-facing engineering experience—run discovery with customer engineers and present to executives in the same week
- Ability to translate "it's not working" into root cause
- Comfortable on customer sites and in high-stakes technical conversations
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Hebrew; can run whiteboard sessions, live troubleshooting, escalations
- Based in Tel Aviv or willing to relocate; hybrid role with travel across Israel
- Legally authorized to work in Israel or eligible for sponsorship
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience with AI voice assistants, STT/TTS, or LLM-based conversational systems
- Building eval sets for a specific domain
- Production experience with LLM gateways (LiteLLM, Portkey, Kong AI Gateway, in-house OpenAI-compatible proxy)
- Familiarity with open-weight model landscape and trade-offs between regional/multilingual models, Hebrew-adapted LLMs, Israeli AI initiatives
- Experience with inference serving engines (vLLM, SGLang, TGI, Ollama) and GPU capacity sizing
- SQL proficiency (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle)
- ETL and data wrangling experience
- CI/CD pipeline design and automation
- Background in telecom, CPaaS, or high-growth SaaS
- Experience with sovereign or on-prem cloud deployments and Israeli regulatory frameworks (Privacy Protection Law, data localization, defense/security sector compliance including IL2/IL3/IL4, dual-use export controls)
- Security mindset (IAM, encryption, audit logging)
