Medeloop is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to deploy AI-powered clinical and research workflows into customer environments. You will own the full lifecycle of each deployment—from initial scoping through production—working directly with researchers, analysts, data engineers, and security teams.
In this role, you'll deploy Medeloop's systems into customers' cloud environments using infrastructure as code, build connectors that integrate with EHR systems (FHIR), data lakehouses, and internal APIs, and translate clinical procedures and business logic into agentic workflows. You'll design evaluation frameworks to validate that workflows meet customer requirements before launch, scope work with customers, estimate effort, build, test, and measure success against agreed criteria.
You'll bring a security-first mindset to all work, handling sensitive patient data in a HIPAA-regulated environment. You'll guide customer security teams through private connectivity, access controls, and PHI handling, ensuring they understand what stays in their environment versus what returns. You'll also convert custom builds into reusable platform features, monitor deployed workflows, fix issues when customer systems change, and participate in discovery conversations with leadership to size future work.
Medeloop is a Series A healthtech company with 200M+ patient records, backed by top-tier investors. The team is small, high-trust, and values ownership from day one. Your work will accelerate drug development, address health equity, and improve clinical research at institutions that matter.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience building scalable agentic systems that execute long-horizon, multi-step tasks, with evaluation frameworks demonstrating reliability
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs: tool calling, MCP or similar protocols, prompt and workflow design, evaluations
- Deep fluency with coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) and a track record of shipping high-quality code quickly
- Hands-on experience with major cloud providers and their infrastructure
- Experience with data lakehouses and warehouses
- Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work confidently with researchers, data engineers, and security teams; translate ambiguous requests into scoped, shippable work
- Comfort with autonomy, ambiguity, and fast execution without compromising security; willingness to travel to customer sites
- Eagerness to learn niche concepts and take on ambitious projects outside past experience
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with EHR, claims, OMOP, or FHIR data
- Work under HIPAA or in other highly regulated deployment environments
- Forward-deployed, solutions, or implementation engineering experience, ideally at a startup
- Containers and sandboxing experience
- Clinical or healthcare background (not required)
