Lovable is an AI-powered software creation platform that has enabled over 60 million projects since launch in November 2024. You'll join as a founding member of the Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) function, a new discipline at the company.
In this role, you'll work directly with customers at the frontier of what Lovable can do, solving technically difficult problems across frontend, backend, and AI systems. You'll design, write, and ship production code while identifying what should become part of the core Lovable platform. This is a hands-on engineering position that bridges the gap between product and customer—you'll understand customer workflows and needs, then translate ambiguous requirements into clear technical designs and working production systems.
You'll own projects end-to-end from discovery and architecture through shipping and iteration. You'll debug complex issues across application, infrastructure, and AI-system boundaries, and help define the FDE function itself, including engineering standards, ways of working, and collaboration patterns with customers and core product teams. Travel up to 50% may be required depending on customer needs.
The tech stack includes Golang and Rust on the backend, React and TypeScript on the frontend, and cloud infrastructure via Cloudflare, GCP, and AWS with multiple LLM providers. You'll also work with Github Actions, OTEL, Grafana, and Terraform.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience building and shipping production software
- Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals: React and TypeScript on frontend, robust backend development
- Track record of writing maintainable, well-tested code and owning what you build in production
- Strong architectural thinking and familiarity with distributed systems
- Ability to prototype rapidly and turn successful experiments into production-quality solutions
- Exceptional product intuition and ability to work directly with users
- Comfort operating with high ambiguity, agency, and end-to-end ownership
BONUS:
- Experience with agentic AI systems or building with LLMs
- Led zero-to-one product development
- Worked in founding or early startup environment
