Salary: USD 180,000 - 200,000 / annual
Fin (now part of Salesforce) is building the highest-performing AI Customer Agent on the market, enabling businesses to deliver impeccable, always-on customer support across service, sales, and ecommerce. The AI Agent resolves complex customer issues end-to-end across every channel with minimal setup and integration.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll work hands-on with Fin's most strategic customers, partnering closely with R&D and Go-to-Market teams to design and deliver high-impact solutions. This role bridges the gap between customer needs and product innovation, going beyond implementation to help shape product direction, influence roadmap decisions, and ensure Fin delivers real, measurable business outcomes in complex, real-world environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive adoption of Fin by helping prospects unlock AI capabilities to automate and scale their support operations
- Embed deeply with strategic customers to understand their business challenges and technical requirements
- Work hands-on with customers' technical teams as a trusted technical expert, coding side-by-side to drive projects to completion
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Success, and Product teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and successful project delivery
- Contribute to the evolution of the Forward Deployed Software Engineering function by codifying best practices and sharing insights from customer engagements

Requirements:
- Strong engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics
- Experience building a SaaS product with real-world usage (bonus: former founder or early startup engineer)
- Interest in AI/ML with ability to quickly build strong understanding of novel problems, capabilities, and architectures
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to navigate organizational boundaries
- Deep coding proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (JavaScript, Python, Ruby, etc.)
- Ability to prototype and ship software quickly while maintaining high quality standards and focus on business outcomes
- Proficiency in using and writing REST APIs to integrate systems effectively
- Strong communication skills to discuss technical topics with both engineers and non-technical audiences
- Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers to build relationships and understand their needs
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States required
