Foxglove is a data platform for Physical AI, helping robotics teams across automotive, aerospace, defense, logistics, and other industries develop, test, train, deploy, and operate robots at scale. The platform makes vast quantities of robotics data actionable, enabling teams to understand what happened, when, on which robot, and why.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be a customer-facing engineer fluent in Korean and English, working directly with robotics companies in Korea to build and deploy Foxglove solutions end-to-end. You'll own projects from proof of concept through production, learning what holds customers back and feeding those insights into the product roadmap.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working closely with customer teams in Korean and English to understand their technical goals, constraints, and needs
- Designing and building full-stack solutions using TypeScript/React, Node.js, Python, ROS, SQL, and/or Rust
- Writing clear scopes, timelines, and success measures for each project phase
- Coding alongside customer engineers and deploying solutions in their cloud, on-premises, and offline environments
- Installing and updating software at customer sites with no internet access, including writing runbooks
- Training customer teams and creating documentation in both Korean and English
- Collaborating with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success teams on shared accounts
- Documenting solutions, contributing to internal libraries, and supporting the Forward Deployed Engineer team
You'll work on real robotics problems spanning data ingestion, indexing, search, visualization, replay, connectivity, collaboration, evaluation, and operations. The role offers high leverage—improvements to query paths, visualization workflows, APIs, or onboarding flows can transform how entire robotics teams work. You'll have ownership and autonomy, working with a small team on meaningful work end-to-end with real influence over product direction and customer outcomes.
The role includes up to 50% travel, including to Korea, and requires comfort working on-site with customers when needed. You'll work with a team 16–17 hours ahead of you, requiring strong independent judgment and communication.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Fluent Korean and fluent English, spoken and written
- Experience running technical meetings with customer engineers and translating requests into scoped work
- Track record of fast prototyping and step-by-step delivery with external stakeholders
- Backend experience in Node.js, Python, or Rust; frontend experience in React/TypeScript (C++ is a plus)
- Docker and comfort deploying/supporting software on networks with no internet access
- Ability to design usable solutions without a dedicated designer
- Ability to work independently with asynchronous team communication
- Willingness to work on-site with customers in Korea when needed
- Comfort with up to 50% travel, including to Korea
- Bonus: robotics or industrial automation experience, or prior deployed/field engineering role
