Advanced Navigation is a leader in AI robotics and navigation technologies serving aerospace, defense, and autonomous systems. The company supplies inertial navigation systems (INS), GNSS receivers, and Fibre Optic Gyroscope (FOG) solutions to major customers including Airbus, Boeing, Google, Tesla, NASA, Apple, and General Motors.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be the bridge between Advanced Navigation's navigation technology and real-world customer applications. You will work hands-on with customers at their sites, labs, and alongside their vehicles and platforms to integrate our solutions into their systems and ensure performance under demanding conditions.
Key responsibilities include:
• Customer Deployment & Integration: Embed with customer engineering teams to integrate INS, GNSS/INS, and FOG-based systems into platforms across land, air, maritime, and robotics applications. Configure, mount, align, and tune systems; resolve interface, timing, communications-protocol, and environmental issues until solutions perform reliably in real operating conditions.
• Field Trials & Proof of Concept: Plan and execute field tests, trials, and PoCs with customers. Define success criteria, collect and analyze position, velocity, acceleration, and orientation data against reference truth, and present evidence-based results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Product Demonstrations: Conduct compelling demonstrations and presentations showcasing capabilities and benefits of geospatial navigation solutions. Tailor presentations to highlight unique value propositions and address customer pain points for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Voice of the Customer: Capture real-world usage gaps and feature requests from the field and feed them back to Product and R&D in a structured, prioritized way. Contribute to product documentation, application notes, integration guides, and internal knowledge bases.
• Sales Support & Relationship Building: Support the sales team with technical credibility during evaluations and carry momentum through deployment so customers reach value quickly. Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams (sales, product, marketing, customer success) and act as a trusted advisor to customers throughout the sales cycle.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide onsite and online support to customers in pre-sales and post-sales contexts. Debug integration issues end-to-end and turn learnings into working solutions and actionable feedback for internal teams.
You will own delivery for a portfolio of customer deployments under the direction of the Forward Deployed Engineering Manager, with a clear path to growing into a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer or Technical Lead role.
