Gumloop is a multiplayer AI agent builder enabling teams across enterprises to build, share, and optimize AI agents with any model and integration. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be embedded with enterprise customers from day one to understand their business, identify high-value AI opportunities, and build agents to solve their biggest problems. You will own technical delivery end-to-end, from discovery through deployment, combining hands-on building with practical AI strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working directly with customer teams and executives to identify and scope high-value AI opportunities
- Mapping processes, connecting systems, and structuring data to ensure agents run reliably in customer environments
- Building, testing, deploying, and iterating on Gumloop agents, measuring success by adoption and business impact
- Partnering with Customer Success and Education teams to enable customers to take ownership and build independently
- Translating deployment learnings into reusable patterns and product feedback
- Traveling to customer sites as needed (approximately 30%) and operating effectively through ambiguity
This is an execution-first role where you'll help define how Gumloop partners with enterprise customers to transform their operations. As an early team member, you'll shape the Forward Deployed Engineer function at the company.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Approximately 4+ years of technical experience with a track record of shipping useful agents or connected systems beyond prototype stage
- Technical foundation ideally in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Experience deploying or implementing software in enterprise environments, including process mapping and working with customer data
- Comfort with JSON, JavaScript, Git, MCPs, and data-structure conversations sufficient to build and debug in the field
- Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences, from frontline users to executives
- Ability to exercise judgment under ambiguity, identifying what matters and taking hands-on action without waiting for perfect specifications
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for onsite customer work, with flexibility to fit your life
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in consulting, professional services, or implementation at a high-growth company
- Prior Forward Deployed Engineer, solutions engineering, or deployment engineering work
- Familiarity with agent tooling, MCP servers, and production LLM workflows
