Salary: USD 99,000 - 130,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company develops a family of systems powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that integrates thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center. The Test Engineering team supports the full spectrum of Anduril's products, including Altius, Lattice, Ghost UAS, Sentry Tower, and counter-UAS platforms.
As a Flight Test Engineer, you will work under minimal supervision to determine and develop approaches to achieve test and evaluation (T&E) goals for small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) and quadcopters, while helping guide and perform test activities. This position focuses heavily on new sUAS/quadcopter aircraft development, with emphasis on electronics, avionics, propulsion, flight characteristics, rugged design, and quality at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct system and sub-system level T&E of hardware and software
- Support or lead test planning and establishment of test measures of success
- Perform ground and flight testing
- Analyze test performance and drive process improvement
- Work across the entire product portfolio in a fast-paced, innovative environment where your work directly impacts fielded military systems
You will be part of an extremely innovative team where testing touches every aspect of product development, from full system level development testing to new aircraft development to sub-component qualification testing.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of sUAS flight test engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
- Previous expertise and working knowledge of the National Airspace System and UAS operating rules and regulations
- Complete understanding of and passion for sUAS/quadcopter engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory
- Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately
- Strong software and documentation experience
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work extended hours as required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Ability to travel as required for planning and testing
- Preferred: Previous experience with energetics, explosive hazard handling and operation procedures, and Electronic Safe-Arming Devices (ESAD)
