The Exploration Company is building innovative aerospace technologies to advance space transportation. We are seeking a Flight Software Engineer to develop and test critical software for the Nyx spacecraft. In this role, you will own requirements for a specific spacecraft sub-system and be responsible for implementing flight software modules. Your day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean unit tests, collaborating with cross-functional teams (Avionics, Propulsion, GNC), contributing to a high-fidelity spacecraft simulator, and conducting integrated testing. You will work in an agile, collaborative environment where decisions are made quickly while maintaining focus on goals and system integrity. The role offers the opportunity to work on safety-critical, real-time software that directly impacts spacecraft operations. You'll collaborate with experienced aerospace engineers and contribute to democratizing space access through innovative technology. REQUIREMENTS: - Strong C++ skills (C++14 and above) - C / Embedded C experience - Strong Python skills - Familiarity with debuggers (GDB, LLDB) - Good understanding of math and physics - Focus on detail, quality, and testing - Experience with CI/CD systems and build systems NICE TO HAVE: - Knowledge of safety-critical and real-time critical software; familiarity with RTOS - Understanding of communication protocols (TCP/IP, UART, CAN Bus, serialization) - Experience with automotive or flight software frameworks - Familiarity with industry standards (AUTOSAR, ECSS, DO-178) Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are provided for those willing to relocate.
