Diamond Foundry is solving thermal limitations in AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless by producing single-crystal diamond wafers. The company has achieved unicorn status, raised $515M in funding, and is executing a multi-billion-dollar expansion plan to manufacture diamond wafers using zero-emission energy and greenhouse gas conversion.
As an Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for building, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting plasma reactors and other critical manufacturing equipment at the Spain facility. You'll work alongside an experienced team of process engineers and maintenance technicians locally, while collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers in the US.
Key responsibilities include:
- Installing, commissioning, upgrading, and maintaining plasma reactors (CVD tools) and other critical manufacturing equipment
- Troubleshooting industrial control and electrical systems, including high-voltage power supplies, controllers, sensors, pumps, PLCs, valves, and other devices
- Tracking and reporting on equipment uptime/downtime, root cause analysis, overall equipment efficiency, mean time between failure, and related metrics
- Working with manufacturing technicians to plan and execute upgrades and retrofits that improve tool reliability and process capabilities
- Writing procedures and checklists, and assisting with training maintenance staff
Your primary goal is to install new equipment in Diamond Foundry Spain and achieve maximum productivity for the production line through improving equipment capabilities and troubleshooting problems.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics Engineering, or similar engineering discipline
- 2+ years of hands-on engineering experience with manufacturing equipment
- Ability in project planning and management, with capacity to thrive in multidisciplinary teams solving complex problems
- Must be available to complete a training period in the United States; role involves ad-hoc short-term international travel to the US for project needs
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking both Spanish and English
