Aidoc is the market leader in healthcare AI, deploying clinical AI solutions in over 2,000 medical centers worldwide and supporting nearly 50 million patients annually. The company has raised over $500 million since 2016 and holds a record number of FDA-cleared solutions.
You will lead the FirstRead team, a new product-focused engineering team within Aidoc's Imaging Platform group. FirstRead is Aidoc's report-generation initiative—a high-potential new product that emerged from a successful beta where the AI drafted thousands of full radiology reports covering hundreds of clinical findings with near-human accuracy.
As Engineering Team Lead, you will own the end-to-end technical delivery of FirstRead, working across the full stack (backend, frontend, AI infrastructure, DICOM pipelines, and platform services). You will be accountable for product outcome and will shape the team's scope, architecture, priorities, and longer-term mission as it evolves.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the engineering effort across multiple disciplines to make FirstRead successful
- Translating rapidly changing product needs and incomplete information into clear technical direction, priorities, and executable plans
- Driving architecture and technical decisions across a broad technical surface, knowing when to move quickly versus invest in robust solutions
- Collaborating closely with other team leads and engineers across Imaging Platform, enabling contributions to existing services while respecting their ownership and long-term direction
- Building the FirstRead engineering team, establishing its culture and ways of working, and developing engineers
- Partnering closely with Product and stakeholders to turn evolving product direction into concrete engineering execution
- Maintaining strong engineering standards while balancing experimentation and delivery speed with reliability, maintainability, and scalability
You will work in a hybrid model at Aidoc's offices in Tel Aviv (34 HaMasger Street).
Requirements:
- Senior hands-on software engineering experience, including building complex systems end-to-end
- Exceptional track record leading engineering teams while remaining actively involved in technical and architectural decisions
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to drive execution and maintain momentum in fast-paced, high-priority projects
- Proven ability to lead projects in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments where requirements and technical direction are not fully defined upfront
- Broad technical experience and passion for working across different areas of the stack rather than specializing exclusively in a single domain
- Strong system design and software engineering fundamentals, with experience designing and building distributed production systems
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of an outcome from early concept through implementation, production, and continued evolution
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively across engineering teams and organizational boundaries
- Strong product and business orientation, with the ability to balance technical considerations with speed, learning, and business impact
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills
Advantages:
- Experience working in environments with shared platforms and multiple engineering teams contributing to the same product
- Experience across multiple areas such as backend, frontend, cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, or AI/ML systems
- Experience with AI-powered products or production AI systems
