ICEYE, the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space, is seeking an Engineering Supply Chain Manager (Electronics) to join its Global Supply Chain organization in Amsterdam. This is a hands-on management role supporting fast-paced hardware engineering teams designing and building electronic systems for satellite constellations.
You will serve as the primary supply chain counterpart for multiple, rapidly evolving electronics projects. Your core mission is to identify long lead items and critical components early in the design cycle, secure them proactively, and prevent supply bottlenecks from delaying prototype builds and testing. You'll be embedded in engineering project teams from kick-off, reviewing BOMs while designs are still malleable, and translating evolving concepts into actionable sourcing steps with minimal delay.
Key responsibilities include:
- High-velocity engineering support: Act as hands-on supply chain partner for fast-paced electronics teams; participate in project kick-offs and design reviews; identify and secure long lead items before they become blockers; advise engineers in real time on component availability, alternates, obsolescence, cost, and lead time implications.
- Rapid sourcing and procurement: Own sourcing and procurement of electronic components, PCB fabrication, PCBA assembly, connectors, harnesses, sensors, RF parts, and embedded modules. Run fast quoting and supplier selection to meet engineering timelines. Lead rapid alternative-sourcing efforts when shortages occur.
- Supplier relationships: Manage relationships with PCB fabricators, electronics manufacturing partners, and component distributors. Understand lead time constraints, manufacturing capabilities, DFM implications, and fast-track options. Negotiate priority build slots, allocation, and expedited shipments.
- Cross-functional coordination: Coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, program management, and operations to remove obstacles and maintain build readiness. Maintain visibility into prototype schedules, engineering changes, and material risks. Operate with a bias for action.
- Risk management and continuous improvement: Build and maintain a living view of supply risks (obsolescence, allocation, single-source parts, counterfeit risk, export restrictions). Keep ERP purchasing accurate with clean traceability and cost visibility. Test new suppliers, sourcing channels, and tools to reduce lead times.
- R&D to production readiness: Communicate R&D supply chain risks and critical components to Production early. Support rapid iteration of engineering prototypes while preparing for mass production rollout. Ensure critical parts, qualified suppliers, and realistic lead times are in place before series production.
This role reports to the Engineering Operations Manager and requires someone who thrives in startup-like conditions with tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and incomplete information. You'll be proactive, solution-driven, and comfortable acting before problems arrive.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must-haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Supply Chain, or similar
- 5+ years of direct experience in electronics sourcing, component procurement, or engineering supply chain roles in fast-moving hardware environments
- Strong technical understanding of semiconductors, passive components, PCB fabrication, PCBA assembly, embedded electronics, and prototyping flows
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in startup-like conditions: tight deadlines, shifting priorities, incomplete information, and rapid cycles
- Hands-on experience interpreting electronic schematics, BOMs, AVL requirements, PCB stackups, and manufacturing documentation
- Hands-on experience running purchasing and material management through an ERP system
- Confident negotiator, commercially and technically, able to influence engineers, program managers, and suppliers without formal authority
- Professional English, written and spoken
Nice-to-haves:
- Engineering electronics background and knowledge of design tools
- Experience in space, aerospace, defense, hardware startups, or deep-tech R&D environments
- Exposure to taking hardware designs from prototype into series production
- Existing relationships with PCB/PCBA vendors, distributors, and electronics manufacturing partners
- Certifications (APICS, PMP, Six Sigma)
- Familiarity with rapid-prototyping suppliers, global component marketplaces, and digital sourcing tools
