Nourish is building an AI-native, patient-friendly healthcare system centered on nutrition, live in all 50 states with thousands of dietitians and hundreds of thousands of patients on the platform. The company recently raised a $100M Series C (total funding $215M) from top-tier investors including Menlo Ventures, Thrive Capital, Index Ventures, and others. You will lead the Provider Supply team, reporting to the Director of Engineering. This team owns technology across the provider journey—from application and onboarding through scheduling, productivity, earnings, and retention. Your mission is to grow provider supply by helping existing providers operate at full potential and creating a seamless, high-converting path for new providers to join and activate on Nourish. Key initiatives include: (1) rebuilding the scheduling and capacity system so providers can set achievable caseload goals, trust Nourish to fill their calendars, and earn predictably; (2) transforming application through activation from a human-heavy recruiting process into a thoughtful, product-led experience with data and automation handling repetitive work. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will build, lead, and develop a team of 4–6 engineers with strong technical ownership. You'll coach engineers through regular feedback, career development, and performance management; scale the team through recruiting and hiring; stay hands-on through architecture, pair programming, coding, and code reviews; partner with product and design on requirements, roadmaps, and sprint planning; drive decisions around system design, code quality, observability, and scalability; establish effective team rituals including sprint planning, OKR planning, and retrospectives; and operate with urgency in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. You'll also set the technical and product direction for the provider supply platform, build scheduling and capacity systems, improve the provider application-to-activation funnel through experimentation and automation, create human-in-the-loop systems, build data foundations for provider capacity and marketplace decisions, and connect improvements to patient access, provider retention, and operational efficiency. You'll partner closely with provider recruiting, onboarding, strategy, operations, product, design, data, finance, and clinical leadership. Nourish emphasizes talent density and high standards. The company values people who actively choose hard, ambiguous problems, run toward unglamorous work, give and receive candid feedback, and bring relentless resilience without ego. REQUIREMENTS: - 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with modern full-stack technologies - 2+ years of hands-on engineering management experience - Experience hiring engineers and managing performance, promotions, and career development - Remain technical enough to pair program with your team and contribute directly when needed - Exceptional product judgment: ability to write a PRD, critique or mock a design, size an opportunity, and make progress without waiting on a PM - High proficiency with React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, or similar modern stacks - Shipped and owned production systems in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment - Comfortable using data and experimentation to improve complex funnels, workflows, or marketplace systems - Balance people leadership with technical depth, delivery focus, and clear communication - Energized by Nourish's mission to improve people's health by making it easy to eat well NICE TO HAVE: - Experience with marketplaces, scheduling or capacity-management algorithms - Growth funnels - Operational automation - Workforce technology, provider-facing products - Regulated technology
