WorkOS is a $2B-valued SaaS platform (Series C, $100M raised) that provides developer tools and APIs for enterprise authentication, SSO, directory sync, and identity infrastructure. The company powers enterprise features for leading AI companies including OpenAI, Cursor, and Perplexity.
You will lead the Dashboard team, responsible for helping customers extract maximum value from the WorkOS platform and driving business growth. The team spans three core areas: customer onboarding and growth (helping developers move from signup through production integration), billing and monetization (annual credits, reliability, automated processes, pricing clarity), and AI assistance (coordinating the Dashboard Agent, WorkOS MCP server, Ask WorkOS, and Support Bot into a cohesive developer experience).
Key responsibilities include building and leading a high-velocity team that ships polished product across growth, monetization, and developer assistance; remaining deeply technical and hands-on (reading PRs, writing prototypes, guiding architecture); shaping the roadmap in partnership with product, design, go-to-market, finance, and engineering teams; identifying opportunities and driving product decisions directly; improving the customer journey from signup through expansion using product signals and feedback; balancing rapid iteration with reliability and quality; maintaining clarity and focus in sprints; spending time with customers and engineers to understand pain points; coaching and mentoring engineers through feedback and meaningful ownership; and partnering with recruiting to attract and retain top talent.
This role combines engineering leadership with product judgment. You'll have meaningful autonomy to identify problems, propose directions, and own outcomes from discovery through launch. The position is ideal for a strong product thinker who enjoys close collaboration with product managers and is excited by the intersection of technical leadership and product strategy.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Track record of successfully leading product-focused engineering teams in high-performing organizations that shipped real impact
- Strong coding ability at a high level; comfort getting hands dirty in code; view leadership as amplification, not a step back
- Bias for action and scrappiness; optimize for velocity, customer value, and learning rather than over-engineering process
- Deep care for developer experience; think about UX, APIs, performance, edge cases, and joy
- Obsessive about asking "why"; drive continuous learning in yourself and your team
- Build trust, give direct feedback, create space for engineers to thrive
- Experience partnering with internal recruiting teams on effective and fair hiring; recognize recruiting as a large and important part of the role; track record of recruiting, hiring, and mentoring top talent
- Strong product thinking that connects customer needs, technical possibilities, and business outcomes; collaborate well with product managers; comfortable driving product decisions using customer insight and evidence
- Experience with onboarding and growth, billing systems, or customer-facing AI products is especially relevant (not required in all three areas)
