Vanta is a Series D security and trust management platform helping businesses automate and prove their security posture continuously. The Customer Trust team owns products that put security assessments on autopilot, including the Trust Center and Questionnaire products.
As Engineering Manager, you will lead two squads (11 engineers total) building two of Vanta's most strategically important roadmaps. This is an execution-focused role in a high-visibility product area where product-market fit is proven and the opportunity lies in delivering with urgency and precision at the intersection of agentic AI innovation and enterprise expansion.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead two squads to deliver consistently and sustainably against a clear product roadmap
- Set a high-accountability, high-ownership delivery culture with weekly goal tracking, tech spec reviews, and proactive project visibility
- Partner closely with product and design to shape roadmap priorities and ensure engineering has a strong voice in what gets built
- Engage meaningfully in technical decisions—read specs, participate in architecture discussions, and guide your team toward sound engineering choices
- Attract, grow, and retain strong engineers; manage and uplevel senior individual contributors
- Work cross-functionally with GTM, the AI Platform team, and other partners to identify opportunities and clear blockers
- Contribute to Vanta's engineering culture by helping build processes, norms, and practices that enable organizational scaling

REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of full-time engineering management experience leading teams of 6–8+ engineers
- Track record of running high-execution teams with disciplined delivery practices (tech spec reviews, weekly goal tracking, strong timeline accountability)
- Experience managing and upleveling senior individual contributors
- Product engineering background: led teams building customer-facing software, not primarily infrastructure or platform
- Technically engaged and comfortable in architecture discussions; able to read specs critically and make informed tradeoff decisions
- Proven ability to shape product and long-term technical strategy in close partnership with a PM
- Strong decision maker who effectively balances ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality
- Uses AI in day-to-day work to amplify skills and strengthen outcomes; actively builds fluency through experimentation with sound judgment
