Salary: USD 200,000 - 285,000 / annual

You will join the Core Platform team as an Engineering Manager leading projects that impact Verkada's Command product. This is a hands-on manager role where you will lead a team of both frontend and backend engineers, actively write code and prototype features, and collaborate closely with Product and Design to ship high-quality, delightful user experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading engineering projects across the Command product with mixed frontend/backend teams
- Rolling up your sleeves to write code and prototype new features alongside your team
- Inspiring your team to create polished, user-centric experiences
- Partnering with Product and Design to define and execute on features
- Collaborating with other engineering leaders on goals, priorities, and processes
- Driving adoption of best practices, coding standards, and development methodologies
- Staying current with emerging technologies and evaluating their impact on web platforms
- Fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience managing and leading engineering teams, including hiring, retention, and performance management
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience with both backend and frontend technologies
- Experience in agile software development environments
- Strong eye for design, product details, and polish
- Working knowledge of at least one server-side framework and one database system
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field
