Salary: USD 405,000 - 485,000 / annual
Anthropic is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead teams building APIs and developer tools for the Claude Platform. The Claude Platform enables developers and enterprises to build on Claude's models through APIs, SDKs, documentation, and tooling. As the models become exponentially more intelligent, the platform infrastructure must evolve in parallel to allow developers to safely leverage that intelligence.
In this role, you will lead a team of engineers shipping high-quality APIs and infrastructure for building and running agents in production. Your team's work will be backed by identity, verification, and trust systems that enable Anthropic to scale access to Claude responsibly. You'll own planning, prioritization, delivery, and operational health for your team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of engineers to ship high-quality work quickly, owning planning, prioritization, delivery, and operational health
- Partnering with product to set your team's roadmap and bringing a strong point of view on developer needs
- Talking directly to customers and translating learnings into engineering priorities
- Guiding API design and architecture decisions for distributed systems that must remain reliable as usage scales
- Working closely with Research, Safeguards, Security, and go-to-market teams to bring new model capabilities to developers safely
- Recruiting, coaching, and growing strong engineers

REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience managing high-performing software engineering teams shipping developer products, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
- Product-minded and customer-oriented; demonstrated ability to shape roadmaps alongside product partners
- Experience building and scaling distributed systems in production with technical depth to guide architecture and API design
- Track record leading teams that ship quickly while maintaining a high quality bar
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to align teams you don't manage
- Commitment to Anthropic's mission and developing AI safely
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience building agent infrastructure or products on top of LLMs
- Experience with identity, verification, access control, or trust and safety systems
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in a field relevant to the role.
