Constant Contact is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their Australian software development team based in Brisbane. This is a hybrid role combining remote flexibility with in-office collaboration.
You will serve as a player-coach, balancing people management with hands-on technical leadership. Your responsibilities include:
• Leading and mentoring a high-performing development team in an Agile environment, holding them accountable to milestones and outcomes
• Bridging global strategy with local execution, working cross-functionally with product, sales, and marketing
• Managing technical delivery across system administration, network engineering, software/system architecture, virtualization, and database platforms
• Overseeing functional and technical specifications for project work in conjunction with BA/Scrum Master roles
• Ensuring platform compliance and maintaining security certifications (ISO 27001, SOC2)
• Reviewing and maintaining security systems (ISMS), code policies, and processes
• Managing execution and reporting of periodic security, redundancy, and disaster recovery test programs
• Overseeing upgrades and maintenance of the company's tech stack, development infrastructure, and QA environments
• Balancing system stability and performance against fast-paced product roadmaps and technical debt
• Providing high-level strategic input across the company as required
• Conducting complex support investigations and fixes as needed

REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 3+ years' experience leading development teams in a SaaS environment
• Proven self-starter with exceptional understanding of software development tools and processes
• Experience working in Agile team environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong troubleshooting and creative problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated ability to balance system stability, performance, and technical debt against fast-paced product roadmaps
• Demonstrated experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to design modular, scalable SaaS architectures with clear boundary lines and low cross-team coupling
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Strong fundamental skills with cloud computing (AWS), networking, and physical hardware
• Good understanding of Information Security requirements and compliance (ISO 27001, SOC2) within SaaS businesses
• Comfortable working across international teams
