As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers delivering on the product roadmap. You'll manage a group working on complex technical projects, contribute to product strategy, and help develop your team's careers. The role emphasizes hands-on technical involvement alongside people management—you'll actively participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and contribute to engineering-wide initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working closely with Product Management and Client Services to define and deliver the product roadmap
- Actively participating in technical discussions and design reviews
- Measuring your team's impact and contributing to product strategy
- Developing engineers on your team and supporting their career growth
- Leading by example with hands-on technical work
- Contributing to engineering-wide initiatives including recruitment and team processes

This is a full-time, permanent position based in the Lisbon office, requiring four days per week onsite.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
- 2+ years of engineering management experience leading product-aligned teams
- Experience working in cloud-native environments with modern technology stacks (microservices, Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS/GCP, Go/Python)
- Strong technical background to drive technical decisions and excellent interpersonal skills for communication with Product Managers and Client representatives
- Comfort wearing different Engineering Manager hats as team needs evolve; ability to work with high responsibility and autonomy
Desirable:
- Knowledge of banking/finance
- Interest in client-facing projects, scoping, and deliverable definition
- Experience recruiting and shaping engineering teams
- Active role in defining and evaluating team processes
- Experience in hypergrowth environments
