Asana is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Authorization team, which builds features at the intersection of product and platform. The team ensures Asana customers have precise control of their data while enabling other Asana teams to build delightful end-to-end experiences. The Authorization team works across the full R&D lifecycle, from data model design to implementing subtle interaction behaviors that differentiate great software. The team collaborates closely with UI designers and infrastructure teams, leveraging continuous deployment to ship both large features and daily product enhancements.
In this role, you will manage and enable the growth of talented engineers on the team, driving hiring to scale the team smoothly. You'll guide the articulation and execution of the team's roadmap, ensuring alignment with high-level business goals. You'll coach engineers in their technical and professional development, set the team up to own technically challenging and critical projects, and ensure adoption of foundational investments through deep collaboration with other Asana surface areas. You'll balance advocacy for engineering best practices—highly performant, maintainable code—with team velocity and business commitments. You'll work alongside peer managers in a strong team environment while ensuring a great, reliable experience for Asana users globally.
The role is based in Asana's San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. Standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most employees have the option to work from home on Wednesdays, with Friday flexibility depending on work type and team partnerships.

- Excited to partner with Design and Product on both large new features and daily product enhancements
- Focused on maximizing impact for yourself, your team, and Asana as a whole
- Intelligence, empathy, integrity, and technical chops required to earn trust of a technically astute team
- Comfortable with ambiguity; ability to figure out what needs to be done and execute
- Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with willingness to learn and leverage them
