You will lead a high-performing engineering team, setting technical direction and guiding engineers to solve high-value challenges across data, product, and infrastructure. Your responsibilities include building and mentoring a cross-functional team, staying engaged with technical design and architectural decisions, translating product visions into scalable solutions, partnering with product and design teams on roadmaps, coaching senior engineers, maintaining deep understanding of system architecture and reliability, and hiring exceptional talent.
You will work on diverse challenges daily: fostering a culture where engineers feel motivated and empowered; conducting code reviews and architectural decisions while balancing leadership; making data-driven technical and strategic decisions; aligning priorities with product, design, and data teams; developing senior engineers to take ownership of initiatives; guiding long-term investment in stability and scalability; and building trust through one-on-one conversations.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience leading high-performing engineering teams and delivering impactful products
- Deep technical expertise in software development and system design
- Expertise in at least one core technology (Python, TypeScript, AWS, Terraform) and experience designing and building scalable systems
- Product and design-oriented mindset; ability to translate user and business needs into high-quality solutions
- Effective communicator and collaborator across engineering, product, and design
- Passion for mentoring, developing talent, and fostering inclusive, positive team culture
- Commitment to operational excellence, long-term technical quality, and reliable systems
- Track record of shipping iteratively at a fast cadence while ensuring sustainable growth
