Raisin is a leading fintech platform connecting consumers with banks across the EU, UK, and US to provide better savings and investment rates. The company manages over 80 billion euros in assets for more than one million investors.
The AI Enablement team builds Raisin's internal AI platform, enabling all teams—engineering, product, and business operations—to safely and effectively use AI in their daily work and product development. The platform provides governed access to AI models and tools, security and compliance controls, cost management, and visibility for reliable AI operations. Given Raisin's regulated financial services context, security and compliance are foundational to the platform design.
As Engineering Lead, you will manage and grow the engineers building this internal AI platform while driving the company's AI-assisted engineering practices. You are accountable for team delivery, growth, and maintaining user trust in the platform.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Lead and Grow the Team:** Hire, onboard, and develop engineers across platform engineering, infrastructure, and AI. Conduct regular 1:1s, set clear expectations, and develop individual growth plans. Provide timely feedback, recognize strong performance, and address underperformance early. Foster an environment of trust, open communication, and continuous learning to help the team keep pace with rapid AI evolution without burnout.
**Own Delivery and Operations:** Drive end-to-end delivery from planning through release, balancing new capabilities with reliability and maintenance. Ensure the platform runs reliably in production with strong on-call practices, incident handling, and service levels for dependent teams. Identify risks and blockers early, resolving or escalating with clear proposals. Convert AI strategy into quarterly goals and roadmaps with your manager and stakeholders.
**Run the Platform as a Product:** Partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to understand needs and prioritize platform capabilities. Measure adoption, reliability, cost, and impact to inform planning and leadership reporting. Manage AI usage costs, budgets, licenses, vendor relationships, and build-versus-buy decisions.
**Shape Technical Direction:** Collaborate with tech leads on architecture and key decisions, staying hands-on in design discussions and selected implementation work. Work with security, legal, and compliance to ensure the platform and company AI usage remain secure and compliant. Support engineering teams across Raisin in adopting AI through documentation, workshops, and direct support.
**Requirements:**
- 3+ years leading engineers as an Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead, or Team Lead, including hiring and performance management
- 7+ years in software engineering overall, with background in backend, platform, infrastructure, or developer tooling
- Experience leading a team that builds for internal customers (platform, developer tooling, or shared services used by other engineers)
- Track record of delivering production systems that other teams depend on, including ownership of their reliability
- Practical understanding of modern AI integration (LLM APIs, AI coding assistants, agentic workflows) deep enough to evaluate technical decisions and challenge the team; you use AI tools in your own work
- Clear communication with engineers, product, and business stakeholders; fluency in English
**Nice to Have:**
- Experience with AI platform topics such as model access, governance, observability, rate limiting, or cost management
- Track record of driving adoption of new tools or practices across an engineering organization
- Experience leading distributed or hybrid teams
- Experience in a regulated industry such as banking or fintech
