Engage3 is seeking a Web Data Collection Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust web scrapers that provide critical data to customers and enable data science and reporting teams to deliver insights to retail clients. You will be the backbone of the Web Data Acquisition department, working primarily with Mozenda, Engage3's proprietary web scraping platform. Mozenda is chosen over open-source frameworks like Playwright or Selenium because it is robust, fast, and flexible—allowing for simple web scraping implementations while maintaining advanced techniques for high-volume collection and CAPTCHA bypass strategies. The platform provides the consistency and infrastructure needed to maintain thousands of active scrapers with a lean team. The data you collect feeds into Engage3's Snowflake database. You will be expected to develop SQL proficiency to query collected data and troubleshoot collection issues, particularly as you advance in the role. You will work in-office Monday through Friday during standard business hours (08:00–16:30 or 09:00–17:30). The role emphasizes collaboration, self-directed learning, and strong working relationships across teams. For Trainee-level entry, you should have basic familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; a strong drive to learn; excellent attention to detail; persistence on challenging problems; and ideally a Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or Computer Engineering (or current enrollment in a technical program). As you progress to Associate level (after formal training and trial period), you will be expected to build most web scraping projects using Mozenda, write XPath and RegEx expressions, master Engage3's retail data specification, and identify and replicate API-based data loading patterns using JavaScript. REQUIREMENTS: - B2 or above English proficiency (required) - In-office availability Monday–Friday during business hours (required) - Basic familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (required for entry) - Strong attention to detail and problem-solving persistence (required) - Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Computer Engineering, or current enrollment in technical degree program (preferred, not required) - Willingness and ability to learn SQL for data querying and troubleshooting (expected, especially for senior team members) - Drive to learn and work creatively in a collaborative, self-directed environment (required)
