Join Isar Aerospace's Combustion Devices team as an Engine Thrust Chamber Engineer. You will take ownership of thrust chamber assembly design and development, including injector heads, combustion chambers, and nozzles for pump-fed liquid propellant rocket engines. This is a fast-paced environment with short design, build, and test cycles. Key responsibilities include: - Design injector heads, injector elements, combustion chambers, and nozzles - Perform trade-off studies and develop technical roadmaps for thrust chamber assemblies - Create and validate thrust chamber subcomponent models against test data - Conduct detailed injection, combustion, and cooling CFD studies to assess injector and cooling channel designs - Plan and execute subcomponent and integrated engine test campaigns, analyzing gathered data - Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs remain manufacturable, fast, and cost-effective at scale About Isar Aerospace: A fast-growing New Space company building modern launch solutions for small and medium-sized satellites into Low Earth Orbit. Requirements: - MSc in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or comparable technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience - Several years of experience designing liquid rocket engine components - Excellent understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and combustion physics - Significant experience conducting reacting CFD of injectors and combustion chambers - Experience with gas/gas or gas/liquid injectors in high-pressure rocket combustors - Experience analyzing test data from rocket combustors or comparable hardware - Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or comparable programming language, and 3D CAD - Fluent in English - Willingness to travel occasionally for test and launch operations Bonus skills: Experience planning and organizing multi-party test campaigns; working knowledge of manufacturing techniques (additive manufacturing, CNC machining, brazing, welding, casting); experience correlating models against hot-fire test data.
