AnySignal is developing next-generation RF products and services for space and defense missions. The company is building a flexible, high-performance platform for advanced radio technologies.
As an Embedded Software Engineer on the Space Software team, you will own mission-critical embedded systems from design through deployment on customer missions. Your work spans the full embedded software stack: low-level RF integrated circuit drivers, high-speed FPGA interfaces, embedded Linux, networking, and fault-tolerant software architecture. You'll support reliable communications and sensing capabilities for demanding space and defense missions where software must anticipate failures and operate reliably in environments with limited physical intervention.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning development of mission-critical embedded systems and driving overall product success beyond software scope
- Designing, developing, and testing reliable C++ code on Linux-based embedded systems
- Building software across the stack, including RF IC drivers, high-speed FPGA interfaces, and fault-tolerant system failure recovery
- Supporting hardware bring-up, schematic reviews, and debugging embedded radio platforms
- Building automated hardware-in-the-loop tests to validate system performance and reliability
- Working directly with customers to integrate products into flight systems, debug RF links, and ensure mission success
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to own complete systems, including software and hardware interfaces
- Proficiency in C++
- Experience developing embedded software on Linux platforms
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across embedded hardware and software systems
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Network programming experience (TCP/IP, UDP, socket programming in embedded Linux)
- Digital signal processing, modem design, and RF communications knowledge
- Fault-tolerant software development for mission-critical applications, especially in radiation environments
- Board bring-up, schematic review, and hardware troubleshooting experience
- RF hardware testing and debugging with spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and RF test equipment
- Xilinx MPSoC-based device development
- Embedded Linux platform development (Buildroot, U-Boot, Xilinx FSBL)
- FPGA RTL writing or FPGA fabric interaction
- Python, build systems (CMake, Make, Bazel), and CI pipeline development (GitLab)
