Fuse Energy is a well-funded energy startup ($200M+ raised from top-tier investors including Balderton, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, and others) building an integrated energy company that combines solar generation, battery storage, grid infrastructure, AI-driven optimization, and distributed energy solutions sold directly to consumers. You will own end-to-end electrical development for the company's plug-and-play solar products, designing robust, scalable electrical systems for safe, efficient, and reliable renewable energy hardware. This is a hands-on role spanning the full product lifecycle: requirements definition, specification, design execution, simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout, DFM iteration, board bring-up, system integration, and validation. Key responsibilities include: - Design and develop electronics for renewable energy systems, including power conversion, sensing, control, and communications functions - Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, controls, PCB layout, program management, validation, and manufacturing teams - Debug hardware issues and system-level interactions in a fast-moving, multidisciplinary environment - Produce clear technical documentation including design requirements, calculations, test plans, and validation results - Support prototype builds, industrialization, supplier engagement, and production ramp activities - Rapidly iterate designs as requirements evolve This role is ideal for an experienced electronics engineer who thrives in a startup environment and wants to directly impact the energy transition through hardware innovation. REQUIREMENTS: - Strong understanding of power electronics and circuit design: dc/dc converters, inverters, battery-powered systems, power switching devices, gate drivers, magnetics, loss modeling/calculation - Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design: microcontrollers, signal conditioning, communications interfaces, component selection, thermal/power dissipation - Experience with PCB design and layout for mixed power and signal systems, including parasitics minimization and EMI/EMC performance - Proficiency with circuit board design tools, ideally Altium Designer - Proficiency with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, electronic loads, signal generators, LCR meters, power analyzers - Experience with hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and root-cause analysis - Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools such as LTspice, PLECS, or similar - Basic scripting or programming ability, ideally Python or MATLAB - Basic knowledge of embedded systems, PWM, and control concepts for power conversion - Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience - Experience supporting products through manufacturing and high-volume production is a plus
