Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to join the Manufacturing team's Electromagnetic Warfare division. The EW Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, including design for manufacturability, tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing, quality planning, and work documentation.
In this role, you will own test activities in production and ensure the production test flow meets stringent quality standards and throughput requirements. You will provide hands-on troubleshooting to resolve complex electrical issues discovered during testing and maintain test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream—from system-level checkouts and acceptance testing to component-level in-process validation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain ownership of test activities and production test flow; provide hands-on troubleshooting for complex electrical issues
- Maintain test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream from system-level to component-level validation
- Improve and sustain existing test systems to enhance automation, consistency, cycle time, and test coverage
- Generate clear test work instructions for technician teams in the MES and provide training on equipment use
- Develop a library of common failure modes with troubleshooting guides for rapid issue resolution
- Determine root cause of product failures and recommend corrective actions (RCCA)
- Collaborate with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams on customer returns and failure analysis
- Contribute feedback to early-stage test design for new product introduction (NPI)
- Analyze test data, document results, and provide detailed reports identifying defects and improvement areas
- Collaborate with design engineers to provide feedback and recommendations for product enhancements based on test outcomes
- Optimize test strategies for efficiency and effectiveness, reducing test time without compromising quality
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure precision and reliability
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance testing processes
- Execute testing as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on manufacturing test and product sustainment
- Familiarity with Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW, and NixOS
- Experience with contract manufacturers in testing PCBA/electronic assemblies; thorough knowledge of PCBA testing standards and methods
- Familiarity with electronics test equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition and measurement sensors
- Strong root cause analysis skills for non-conforming hardware
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Familiarity with Product Life Cycle (PLM) systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Test Execution Systems (TES)
- Experience working on projects involving integration of electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
