Salary: USD 98,000 - 130,000 / annual

As an Electrical Test Engineer (titled "Camera Test Engineer" in the posting), you will own test activities in production, ensuring systems meet stringent quality standards before delivery to customers. You will think creatively to solve difficult testing problems and continuously improve automation, throughput, user interfaces, and data analytics. Success requires working effectively on fast-paced, highly technical, interdisciplinary teams and communicating clearly across functions to resolve production issues quickly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain ownership of test activities and production test flow; provide hands-on troubleshooting for complex infrared systems issues
- Maintain test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts to component-level in-process validation
- Generate test work instructions for technician teams in MES; train technicians on equipment use
- Develop libraries of common failure modes with troubleshooting guides for rapid issue resolution
- Maintain and develop software for test automation, data analytics, and report generation
- Determine root causes of product failures and recommend corrective actions (RCCA)
- Collaborate with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams on customer returns and failure analysis
- Contribute feedback to early-stage test design for new product introduction (NPI)
- Analyze test data, document results, and provide detailed reports identifying defects and improvement areas
- Collaborate with design engineers to provide feedback and recommendations for product enhancements
- Optimize test strategies for efficiency and effectiveness, reducing test time without compromising quality
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure precision and reliability
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance testing processes
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on manufacturing test and product sustainment
- Experience with data acquisition and processing using MATLAB, Python, and other programming languages
- Experience with test automation and report generation
- Strong root cause analysis skills for non-conforming hardware, software, and firmware
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Experience working on projects integrating electrical, opto-mechanical, and software/firmware systems
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of infrared systems, including performance requirements and verification methodologies
- Experience with cryogenic testing equipment
- Familiarity with test equipment: power supplies, electronic loads, thermal chambers, function generators, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition and measurement sensors
- Experience with computer hardware communication protocols: USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, CAN, etc.
