Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company develops unmanned aerial systems (UAS) platforms including Anvil, Altius, and Ghost, which operate autonomously in remote environments with limited user input. These systems are powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that integrates thousands of data streams into real-time 3D command and control.
You will join the team developing next-generation flight vehicles with advanced autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology. The role focuses on electrical integration and systems engineering for edge compute and communications capabilities.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead development of end-to-end solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements and system architecture
- Design, develop, and maintain system components meeting functional and performance requirements in complex system environments
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure reliability, scalability, and resilience, particularly within distributed systems contexts
- Work closely with hardware engineers and product managers to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components
- Collaborate on defining and documenting software engineering processes and practices, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Support the engineering product development, production, and sustainment through the entire product lifecycle
- Participate in simulation and rapid prototyping development to drive complex electro-mechanical and aero-performance design trades
The role requires familiarity with systems modeling, Agile methodologies, hands-on prototyping of complex robotic systems, and automated test script development. You will be based in Costa Mesa, CA with up to 25% domestic travel for test planning and execution.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2–6 years of industry experience in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or systems engineering
- Passion for systems design, development, integration, and testing
- Proficiency with systems modeling tools such as Cameo
- Comfort with Agile/Scrum methodologies and ability to operate effectively in Agile environments
- Hands-on prototyping, troubleshooting, and build experience with complex robotic systems
- Experience developing automated test scripts and frameworks using common languages (Python, MATLAB, etc.)
- Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills with strong verbal and written communication
- Commitment to positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% and work onsite at Costa Mesa headquarters
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, troubleshooting, and building complex robotic systems
- Familiarity with IP-based networks
- Experience with mission systems including communications systems and components
- Familiarity with aviation airworthiness considerations
- Current U.S. Secret security clearance or higher
