Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Hardware Platform Organization is the central hardware engineering group building shared technologies, tools, and infrastructure powering hardware development across all Anduril divisions—from actuators and propulsion to batteries, avionics, rocket motors, and test operations.
You will join a rapidly growing team supporting defense hardware development across propulsion and weapons systems programs. The role offers two primary focus areas:
**Propulsion Track:** Develop and test cutting-edge electronics for propulsion systems. You'll work on propulsion flight controllers, power electronics, high-efficiency motor controllers, and electromagnetic actuators, applying deep technical expertise in defense and aerospace hardware development.
**ESAD (Electronic Safety and Arming Device) Track:** Develop fuzing circuitry for missile systems. You'll collaborate closely with vehicle development teams to design, document, and produce tailored fuzing systems and effectors. You'll develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses connecting electronic equipment within vehicles.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Contribute to full-cycle PCB design for high-reliability defense hardware, including schematic capture, component selection, layout (Altium preferred), bring-up, test, debug, and system integration, with guidance from senior engineers
- Support design and development of circuits for safety-critical aerospace and defense applications: power electronics, motor/actuator drivers, digital control systems, fuzing circuitry, or vehicle interconnect
- Perform design analysis tasks including worst-case analysis (WCA), thermal analysis, DFMEA, and component derating under senior staff direction
- Execute board bring-ups and support Design Verification Testing (DVT), qualification testing, and functional testing through ground and flight test
- Develop system interconnect diagrams and support wire harness definition for vehicle integration
- Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software, systems, quality, and manufacturing teams across the development lifecycle
- Participate in peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews
- Support root cause and failure analysis in response to ground test and field operations findings
- Assist with vendor surveys and component evaluation to support sourcing decisions
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex PCB designs
- Foundational understanding of analog, digital, and power electronics
- Working proficiency with electronic CAD tools (Altium Designer strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with circuit simulation tools (LTSpice or equivalent)
- Competence with standard lab test equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, DMMs, and basic test automation
- Familiarity with standard interfaces including CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, USB, and common MCU/CPU architectures
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Active DoD Secret clearance or eligibility in process
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in defense, aerospace, UAS, missile, or maritime hardware development
- Exposure to propulsion electronics, fuzing systems, or other safety-critical hardware
- Experience designing for signal integrity or power integrity
- Familiarity with MIL-STD standards or avionics design standards (DO-254, DO-160)
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for data analysis or system simulation
