You will join as an Electrical Engineer in a hands-on individual contributor role focused on designing and developing electrical systems for thermal battery and power dispatch applications. Your work will span power conversion and controls, instrumentation, and grid interconnection. You'll own discrete electrical designs and sub-systems, work closely with senior engineers on broader architecture decisions, and partner across mechanical, controls, and systems teams to bring the product to life.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop electrical components and sub-systems for thermal battery and power dispatch applications
- Create schematics, PCB layouts, and technical specifications under senior guidance
- Perform electrical analysis, simulation, and validation testing on assigned designs
- Contribute to power electronics, control circuits, instrumentation, and protection systems
- Integrate electrical designs with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams
- Troubleshoot electrical issues during prototype builds, bench testing, and field deployments
- Evaluate components and vendor technologies; make part selection recommendations
- Ensure designs meet safety standards, regulatory requirements, and performance targets
- Document designs, test procedures, and technical findings
- Support prototype builds, bring-up, and field testing activities
- Stay current on power electronics, grid integration, and renewable energy developments
This role is based at headquarters in Miami, FL. Relocation assistance is provided.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of electrical engineering experience, ideally with power systems or power electronics exposure
- Working knowledge of power electronics, circuit design, and control systems
- Proficiency with electrical design tools (Altium, EAGLE, KiCad, or similar)
- Familiarity with simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB, or similar)
- Understanding of relevant standards (NEC, UL, IEC, IEEE)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear technical documentation and communication abilities
PREFERRED:
- Experience with high-voltage or high-power electrical systems
- Exposure to renewable energy applications (solar inverters, BMS, grid interconnection)
- Hands-on prototype and field-testing experience
